The VOC type air quality (odor) sensor has the advantages of high sensitivity, low cost, long life, low power consumption, etc. It is a broad-spectrum Gas Sensor with high sensitivity to many trace amounts of reducing gases (or micro-toxic gas molecules), which include, among other types of gas molecules, ammonia, hydrogen, alcohols, carbon monoxide, methane, propane, glycol, styrene, propylene glycol, phenol, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene, Formaldehyde and other organic volatile gases, cigarettes, wood, paper burning smoke, oil smoke, etc.       

GS-VOC-type air quality (odor) sensor is made of nano-sized SnO2 powder and appropriate amount of catalyst doped and sintered. The conductance of the sensor rises when trace amounts of reducing pollutant gases are present in the air. The amount of change in conductance increases with the concentration of the pollutant gas. Through the size of the conductivity change, the sensor can sense the degree of air pollution. For example, the sensor can produce a change in conductance when second-hand smoke or molecules evaporated from cosmetics are present in the room. Using this sensitive characteristic of the sensor, and then through a simple microcontroller control, it can realize intelligent start exhaust ventilation equipment, so as to achieve the effect of intelligent purification of indoor air.
