About Catalytic combustible gas sensor

What is Catalytic combustible Gas Sensor

Catalytic combustable Gas Sensor is the use of its oxidation and combustable characteristics to detect the content of gas in the air, is a specific sensor for combustible gas detection detectors Catalytic combustable Gas Sensor has the advantages of good performance and low cost.

Features of Catalytic combustible Gas Sensor

① Has broad spectrum to response of all combustible gases;

② No response to non-combustible gases, detection without interference;

③ Structure is simple and low cost;

④ Insensitive to the influence of environmental temperature and humidity, suitable for field use.

How to judge whether the catalytic combustion Gas Sensor is in normal use?

Combustible gas detectors have a standard method to confirm the status of the sensor, which is called the retention value. The retention value is a measure of the sensitivity of the sensor and is derived when the gas detector is calibrated. In the final step of calibrating a gas detector, the retention value for each sensor is displayed and stored in the calibration record of the instrument.

Typically, a sensor calibration failure is indicated by a retention value less than or equal to 50% of the standard gas concentration.

A sensor with a retention value between 50% and 70% indicates that the sensor sensitivity is marginal and replacement should be considered.

That is, to determine if a catalytic combustion gas sensor is functioning properly, all that needs to be done is to determine if the sensor's sensitivity or retention value can be successfully calibrated.
