Meaning for PPM, %LEL and %VOL
1. PPM: refers to the one in a million.
Generally refers to the high precision products.
For gas detection, normally it is a toxic gas, such as carbon monoxide, general detection range is 0-1000ppm, chlorine gas is 0-50ppm etc.
2. %LEL: refers to the low explosion limit.
The combustible gas easily explode when reaches 100%LEL
So 0-100%LEL generally refers to the measurement range of combustible gas.
3. %VOL: refers to the volume ratio.
Generally refers to the oxygen, combustible gas.
For example, how much oxygen exsits in a space.
Oxygen is very important especially in the hospital.
