Explanation for terms of gas sensor

Explanation for terms of Gas Sensor

1. Sensitivity: When Gas Sensor works in the specified conditions, the ratio between output (voltage, current, resistance and so on) in the gas concentration and the clean air or reference gas.

2. Response time: When gas concentration step changes for the Gas Sensor, the time required for Gas Sensor output change reached stable values percentage (usually 70% or 90%)

3, Selectivity: Refers to the ability of Gas Sensor to identify gas types

4, Stability: The ability of gas sensor output change does not exceed the permissible error under specified operating conditions and work period.

5, Linearity: Degree of deviation curve for the actual output value of the sensor from a specified line.

6, Original stability: The time for original output of the sensor to be stable after storage (not working).

7, Lifetime: The time for output of sensor exceeds the allowable error under certain operating conditions.

8, Zero: Output of sensor in terms of working conditions in the clean air or reference gas.

9, Zero drift: Change of the sensor zero under speicified operating conditions.

10, Sensitivity drift: Change of the sensor sensitivity under specified conditions.

11, Resolution: The minimal change for the quantity being measured of the sensor detection in the sepcified measuring range.

12, Explosion limit:  Lowest concentraion for the mixture of flammable gas, vapor or dust with air to make flame propagation is called the lowest explosion limit of the gas or vapor.
